Digital Production Lab

The Digital Production Lab offers digitization, metadata and preservation services and expertise for scholarly projects.

The Digital Production Lab (DPL) is managed by the Hatfield Library Systems Division. Typical projects include:

  • Digitization of analog materials
  • Automated text transcription
  • Metadata creation
  • Long-term digital preservation
  • Access to digital content

Students employed at the DPL develop technical, organizational, project management and critical thinking skills while completing digitization projects under the supervision of DPL staff.

DPL staff are a resource for digital scholarship projects across the University. Contact us if you want to discuss an idea for a project or grant proposal. Because our staff is small, we prioritize projects that help us build capacity that can be used by others. For more information, contact Sara Amato (Digital Asset Managment Librarian and DPL Manager) or Michael Spalti (Head of Library Systems).
