Scope and Contents

The collection contains black and white photographs of Professor James T. Matthews and Lausanne Hall, Waller Hall, and the Music and Chemistry buildings of Willamette University. The photographs of Waller Hall are of the building before the fire on December 17, 1919 and after the fire, showing the damage.

Historical Note

Ivan Corner was a member of Willamette University’s class of 1921. As a freshman he served as Vice President of his class and was a member of Beta Theta Pi Fraternity and the Websterian Literary Society. Corner married Laura Pemberton who was a member of Willamette’s class of 1926.
